Saying Hi and Welcome

HI every one Colin here soon to be 81 in Leicester.
Joining you as the Leicester LUG is in limbo at the mo.
Background 22 yrs in RAF starting as AC plonk wireless
mechanic leaving as a Chief Technician Ground Electronics
Telecoms Fitter on discharge worked as senior Test engineer
at a local Engineering testing the electronics that run most
of the Trains today. Retired in 1994 (61 yrs).
Worked my way up through the various versions of Windows
the latest 8.1 which has gone base over apex. Purchased an HP
laptop with Ubuntu 12.04 installed as I have been toying with
Linux for quite a while now so have taken the plunge at last.
